Xavier Cariou and Damien Bénéteau began working together in 1996 after completing their photographic studies in Toulouse. From 1996 to 2002, using the pseudonym “LesCyclopes”, they directed their photography towards digital manipulation, placing theemphasis on the fine line which separates the virtual from the real. They worked for the pressat the same time (fashion magazines and daily newspapers). In 2000 they reverted to using their own names and took the decision to move towards a different style of photography, embracing a variety of subjects (portrait, landscape, still life...). Since 2006, they have beenmaking videos and creating installations, combining photography, video and sound. The site was conceived, designed and compiled by the artists.
